The Sydney Jazz Orchestra to perform this Monday at Blue Beat!

You love Jazz? Then don’t miss the Sydney Jazz Orchestra featuring vocalist Andrew Worboys on Monday 29 October 2012.

Sydney Jazz Orchestra‘s undeniably first class lineup of some of the best jazz and commercial musicians in the country will be on show to deliver a powerhouse repertoire of big band arrangements showcasing music from the world’s renowned arrangers and musicians. It is led by acclaimed composer and arranger Tim Oram.

Sensational vocalist Andrew Worboys delivers Tim’s trademark innovative arrangements of songs by Burt Bacharach, Sting, Ray Charles, The Beatles, Diana Krall, Jamie Cullum and the Eagles. Andrew, whose influences range from the likes of Al Jarreau and Donald Fagan to Michael Jackson, is well known as lead singer in Temple of Groove and backing vocalist in Junglehammer funk outfits. 

A composer, pianist and music producer in his own right, Andrew has collaborated with artists such as Christine Anu, Todd McKenny and Hugh Jackman and most recently conducted the ceremonials Orchestra at the Opera House for Florence and the Machine.
