Lawyer by day and jazz singer/songwriter and multi instrumentalist by night, Sally London has a burning passion for jazz.
Sally plays jazz vocalists from Australia and beyond on her show on Eastside Radio “Sally London and the Jazz Cats”.
Sally plays the piano, drums, ukulele, guitar and keytar.
Sally’s music is regularly aired across community and jazz radio in Australia, the USA and Canada. Sally’s compositions were finalists in the Music Oz 2013 Australian Independent Music Awards, the 2013 International Song Of The Year contest, the 2010 and 2012 Australian Songwriting Competition, the 2010 Great American Song Contest and were featured in 2013 on the Qantas in-flight Radio playlist. “Lexi” was second place in the 2011 Great American Song Contest. “Love Tequila” was ranked number 2 and “Hardest Mistakes” ranked number 5 on the Indie Singles charts in December 2012 by the major radio platform in the USA and Canada.
Sally’s original compositions have been featured on various independent compilation albums released in Australia (under her former name), and her version of the latin jazz standard “Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps” was released in November 2011 by EMI in Europe alongside her idols: Dusty Springfield, Cilla Black, Eartha Kitt, Nancy Wilson and Dean Martin. The song charted on the Greece Jazz Music Chart in 2010.
Sally returned with rave reviews from opening the 2009 and 2015 Tangier Jazz Festival in Morocco. She wowed audiences for 7 weeks as a headline act at the Venetian Casino in Macau China in 2008, opened the 2010 Sydney Multicultural Festival, 2011 Dubbo Jazz Festival, the 2014, 2012 and 2011 Every Woman Festivals, 2012 River Rhythms Concert Series at Sydney Olympic Park, 2012 Transformal at the Carrington Hotel Ballroom (Blue Mountains) to celebrate gender diversity, 2008 Kings Cross Festival, 2009 Newcastle Jazz Festival, the Gold Coast Jazz and Blues Club and has regularly mesmerised crowds with her magnetic performances at Sydney’s iconic music venues.
