They Grow Up So Fast…

We were very lucky last week to have two amazing young people on their work experience contribute to the day to day running of the station. You never really know who might walk in the door when you agree to let school students onto your premises. They might be rowdy and smoke and threaten you with all sorts of attitude. Or they might be like Poppy and Matthew pictured below.

Poppy and Matthew turned out to be highly skilled, willing and enthusiastic for the entire week at Eastside Radio. Within hours we already had them contributing well thought out, structured and creative content for our website. By the 2nd day they were drafting production promos and by the 4th day they were on the air co-presenting and playing songs they liked and in some cases even wrote. Wow!

In fact we were genuinely sad to see them go as good work these days is just so hard to find! Lucky for us we were treated to some very kind words and an amazingly delicious box of chocolates. Who said the youth of today don’t know how to work hard or pay respect. Theres two had both of those traits in spades.
