Travelling the developing world in a wheelchair

Verena Streitferdt has just returned to Australia after a six month trip around developing countries of the world with her wheelchair bound brother Tobias. Verena and Tobias are two of the co-founders of the website Wheelchairtraveller.org, a platform for exchanging ideas, experiences, and tips aimed at making travel to developing countries in all the continents of the world, more accessible to people who are in wheelchairs or who have walking disabilities. Mick Paddon spoke with Verena on Thursday Drive about their travels in Asia, Africa and Latin America where they discovered that, with a few helping hands and a lot of good will, almost anything is possible.
