The Sunset Series returns on Sunday 23 March
War Memorial Park in Lilyfield is set to come alive with the sounds of Blues and Roots Music.
If its finger picking blues or a fusion of soul, Jazz and Blues you enjoy listening to then these artists are for you.
Commencing at 4:00pm is local artist Dan Hopkins who swings from sweet urban country blues finger style to swampy lap slide guitar playing creating a smorgasbord of southern style foot stomping folk, roots and blues that is both authentic and emotionally honest.
Following Dan at 5:00pm will be South-African born singer and Rozelle resident Trude Aspeling who is one of the most versatile vocalists in Australia. Her sensational repertoire covers soul, gospel, Latin and blues. Trude has toured the world playing at major festivals, and will now bring her own brand of soul and sultry blues to Lilyfield. The London Press said “Another Sarah Vaughan has arrived”.
While the sun is setting at 6:00pm settle in to hear a 7 time Aria award winning artist and one of Australia’s finest voice.Wendy Matthews has a reputation as an artist par excellence with a sublime, expressive voice that never fails to move those who hear it.
