DRIVE MONDAY

What can you do to save the world? Plenty!

Don’t despair about the state of the planet – especially the ocean. This afternoon on Monday Drive we are exploring all the positive and even fun things you can do to combat some serious issues – whether it’s how to stop the growing tide of plastic killing off wildlife and clogging our waterways (try going plastic free  in July), or what’s to be done about hundreds of wild dolphins captured at sea and languishing in cages around the world. Stacey from Ecobag Media will be in the studio from 4.30 telling us about an alternative to those pesky plastic bags. At around 5.30pm Sarah Luka from Australia For Dolphins will be explaining her extremely effective campaign to liberate cetaceans at risk. Then there’s the 6th wave of extinction some say is sweeping the globe. Is it all hype and what should we really focus our attention on when it comes to protecting our eco-systems? Dr Leigh Martin, resident ecologist with the Total Environment Centre, will talk us through the extinction facts and fictions. Join me today, with my new romantic production assistant Riley Lavelle Long, and ever-enthusiastic program producer Gemma Davis as we play music, listen to ocean waves and chat with our expert guests, from 4-6pm.
