The 26th Wangaratta Festival takes place this year over a long weekend from October 30th to November 2nd. The Festival is described in John Clare’s book, Why Wangaratta, as being recognised “nationally and internationally as Australia’s most important, most diverse, and consistently interesting jazz festival”. Mick Paddon asked the Artistic Director of the Wangaratta Festival, Adrian Jackson, how he puts together a festival of this scale with the range of music and artists on display. They then talked in detail about some of the performers at this years event including American trumpeter Dave Douglas (pictured) and Australian saxophonist Zac Hurren who will be playing his versions of the last music recorded by the late Dave Ades which is not yet publicly available. The interview was originally broadcast in two parts on Thursday Drive on July 30th.
