This week’s Arts Thursday with Maisy Stapleton brings three wonderful stories, with a focus on craft, design and invention.

First up we meet Cath Fogarty, whose extraordinary life in the arts and whose love of clay and ceramics, led her to establish ChinaClay in Clovelly a shop/gallery featuring the best in ceramic design and showcasing a range of pottery, from the functional to the art piece, and a great purchase too for Christmas or for your everyday use.

Next up, a segment of DESIGN ANTENNA, continuing our story of design in Sydney and our series on designers and makers and their work.

This week we speak to Gary Galego, an inspiring designer of furniture, interiors and special products who has built up an enterprising design business over the last 15 years. For further information go to https://www.garygalego.com/

Thanks to Raymond Scott of Workshopped https://www.workshopped.com.au/ for linking Arts Thursday with Gary.

Finally, visit Fairfield City Museum and Gallery, where an extraordinary exhibition, curated by artist David Capra, is on display. Museum and Public Programs Coordinator, Carmel Aiello tells us about the work of Giuseppe Bianchi, an Italian Post War Immigrant, who created his own museum of extraordinary oversize figures and inventive models reconstructed from his memories and imagery of his life in Italy. Go to https://www.livingmuseum.com.au/ for information on the exhibition, Giuseppe Bianchi – A Man and his Museum and information on the Fairfield City Museum and Gallery.
