FOX FORCE FIVE’s The Anderson Special is booked for October 9th at the Vanguard. Joining Eastside are two of the directors who’s films will be featuring at the event:
Blake Fraser’s (dir. of “Drawn to Life”) main background has always been in the fine arts. Straight out of high school he attended the National Art School specialising in photography, all the while making guerrilla short films with friends. After graduating, Blake spent the following years on the fringe of filmmaking as a storyboard artist for film, music clips and commercials while investing time studying acting to get a better understanding of the actor/director relationship. Blake Then took a 3 month attachment with Showtimes Satisfaction along side director Ken Cameron and follow this with a year studying directing at AFTRS in 2011. Since then he’s been directing commercials, music videos while in development of short and long form works. His film “Drawn to Life” will feature at Fox Force Five October 9th at the Vanguard.
SAMUEL BARTLETT (dir. “The Grand Design”) is an award winning screen-writer, film maker and novelist, managed by Bryan Brucks – head of literary at Luber Roklin Entertainment (LA) and is repped by the GERSH agency (LA). He studied writing and directing at AFTRS & MetroScreen and did his Masters in Film at Sydney University. He has three feature films in production with L.A based production companies. One of which is Sam Worthington’s (Avatar) production company Full Clip Productions – in conjunction with FILM ENGINE – (Butterfly Effect – Snow White and the Huntsman.) His first novel– COCAINE LONDON – is available on Amazon. He divides his time between Sydney, London and LA .
We’ll be listening to music from the films of PT Anderson and Wes Anderson throughout the program.
